She also seemed small. Kaitlyn was aware that appearances could be deceiving though. Everybody in her town had thought she was a witch cause of her strange visions and her spooky eyes. Kaitlyn wasn't a witch though, she could only wish she had that much power. She was just a clairvoyant.
Kaitlyn felt the warmth of the mug under her fingers as she sat down on the sofa by the fire and sipped the coffee. Gabriel still looked uncomfortable. She's not going to poison us, okay? She's just nice. It was possible but unlikely. Most of the people that Kaitlyn and Gabriel had come across were not nice. She was fairly confident in their chances of overpowering Claire if they really needed to.
"Yeah, our car broke down just outside of town. We were on foot when the storm hit. We're trying to find a boat so we can go and find our friends on an island off the coast of Canada."
She could feel Gabriel's disapproval from his spot on the couch. He wasn't happy that Kaitlyn was sharing information but she didn't see the harm in it. And besides, one of them had to be nice and act grateful for the kindness of the stranger.
