Tyler knew that Vicki had been lurking around in her ghost form for a while now. Before the mass of other ghosts came into town then disappeared she'd been around but he'd kept his distance from her. There was a lot he regretted from his past and how he'd treated Vicki during their relationship was one of his biggest ones. She'd died and the chance to fix things was gone. He wasn't the guy he used to be and a lot of factors contributed to that. The Lockwood wolf curse and all that came with it. Seeing so many around him die and learning the hard truths about Mystic Falls and his family. Becoming a hybrid. Caroline. All of it.
Seeing Vicki there now brought back a lot of his past. He knew it was too late to take any of it back, but he couldn't avoid her forever. He stopped walking and faced her, watching her silently for a few moments. She looked exactly the same.
"Hey Vicki," he said and smiled a little. "I probably would have tried to eat me too all things considered. I'm sorry for... well. For a lot of shit that I did back then."
The automatic next question was 'how are you' but she was dead, a ghost, so it seemed wrong to ask it. "You been keeping tabs on us a lot?" He smiled a little again. "Crazy around here isn't it? Feels like we're right at home actually."
