Dean watched as she examined the bag, wondering for a second if she’d expected something else before that thought stumbled into the next about if it should have been something else? He knew they were close and he wasn’t just referring to the physical sense. His hand still lingering at the small of her back despite the cold nipping at his fingers because he found comfort from touching her. But he hadn’t really thought about what that meant or if the world they lived in now even allowed for softer feelings like that to really matter. Sure there were two weddings coming up, but Dean knew the difference between sharing a bond with someone and wanting to show that bond off. Not that he didn't think there wasn’t love there, but he didn’t see the point to weddings. They weren’t important like this was anyway. Like Robin was...
The hunter blinked as the woman’s questions brought him back, the odd turn of his thoughts making his chest feel funny but he pushed through it. Turning his attention to back to her and giving something of a lopsided smile, “Sorry, but its the best I can do on short notice. If you’re a good girl though maybe I can swing something more fashionable out of silver later.”
He knew he had some silver back in the impala and with some work, maybe a little help with the design, he could probably get an amulet made for her. Though he’d have to wait a bit, see how Sam was doing, before Dean decided to make that trip. A week, maybe two at the most, and then he’d make her something special because that’s what she was, special.
“It’ll work for now. Keep any demons that might be coming our way from seeing you and getting inside,” Dean explained while his free hand moved to rest over where his tattoo lay hidden underneath his clothes, “And I thought it would be an easier sell than getting a tattoo. This symbol basically does the same thing.”
