Buffy listened to her and nodded, knowing the feeling. But the truth of the matter was, Dawn had people that cared for her, wanted to be there for her. How would she feel if there was no one? Buffy knew that feeling. When Malachi found her, she was so angry that Angelus was taken away from her. She was ready to storm into the prison and kill everything she saw, but Malachi stopped her, helped her. Sedated her and calmed her down. When she was calm and not with Malachi, or Vik or Azazeal all she time to do was think. They left her behind. What was so special about Angel? It was resentment on her part, but maybe they were saving her. They knew fully well that she'd never want to live like this. A vampire with a soul. It was the worst feeling in the world.
"He's intense because he cares. He takes this and you very seriously. Super seriously. You're lucky to have that. And you know, I'm here too. I can be all intense too." She narrowed her eyes, moving closer to her sister. It was a tease, a small tease and Buffy broke off into a laugh. God, she's laughed twice in her sisters presence. She almost forgot what it felt like.
