Buffy hadn't really talked to her sister while she'd been in the prison. Buffy knew where she stood with her and Dawn wasn't a little girl anymore. Buffy wasn't going to force anything with her, or try when she wasn't wanted. She mainly kept to herself besides her nightly patrols with Angel. Malachi would be with her most times, but even he needed a break from the prison, so it was usually alone time for Buffy. She welcomed it though. It was better than trying with anyone here. She couldn't find it in her to care that much about the others in the prison besides those that she knew.
She glanced over her shoulder toward the entrance to her cell, already knowing that Dawn was near. Taking her eyes away, she looked back at her magazine she found in the rec room until she heard her footsteps in her cell. That's when she closed the magazine and pushed it away before getting up and looking at her sister.
"Hey," she said after a minute of the most awkward silence ever, but well, it was totally understandable. Their life had been one big ball of awkward ever since this ... what? Everett thing or apocalypse thing? Either way, world of awkward, but Buffy smiled.
