"Felt better," he managed to mumble as he tried to fight consciousness. The good thing about being able to move like a blur yourself was not being shocked when someone else did it. Alec was carrying his weight, so Steve didn't fight it. It made it easier on both of them.
The pain was something else. It seemed to radiate from the inside out, as well as the outside in. He literally couldn't remember getting his ass kicked this hard. Not even before he became the first Super Soldier. This was something else. It was good he hadn't called Bucky in. If Bucky saw him like this, he wouldn't have stopped going after the one responsible. No, he couldn't risk losing him again. He was just grateful Alec had not tried to chase her and took him out of the wilderness instead.
Biting down, he clutched at the sheets on the bed and let the pain wash over him as his shoulder was put back into place. He noticed the blood too, but was grateful that Alec didn't bring it up. Taking a breath, he forced himself to come down from that wave of pain.
"Military medical skills. Could of used you in the war." He managed a look down and took in the obvious bruises that were slowly healing. Slowly was the key word. "You didn't go when I told you to." Okay, granted he'd followed the command with shoot her shoes, but he was delirious. "Don't tell anyone until I'm healed. I don't want anyone trying to take her down on their own. You saw and felt what she can do without breaking a nail."
