Adam fixed his shirt when she finally let go of him and he let what she was saying sink in. They had Sesshomaru to protect them so protection wasn't really something they needed. They also had their magic and the Skull. She was persistent which meant she really did need magical help. If she didn't she would have either killed him or left and she knew Adam had power.
"Whatever I want?" He asked her seriously and she smiled before repeating that whatever he wanted she would make happen. Finding out how angry she might be if he said no was something he was trying to avoid. He didn't see any reason why he couldn't offer her magical protection, plenty around did. He just had to be smart so he was quiet for a few minutes in thought.
"Alright, I'll help you but what I want in return? I want to be able to walk away with no repercussions if it gets too intense. I have others I have to think about and I won't put them in serious danger." He made sure he was looking right in her eyes this time because he was going out on a limb here and offering his help. He was expecting her to hold up to her end of the deal as well.
"I'm not saying that's going to happen but just in case. I'm good with what I do, I can keep you and your areas protected." He stood still and waited to see if she was going to accept his price. This was definitely dangerous waters and he knew he was going to have to maneuver them carefully. He was helping them with magic. If he couldn't use it to help, what was the point? Help was a skewed word nowadays anyway, right?
