"Hey, you're not alone okay?" Caroline had conviction in her tone now. She needed Spencer to understand that whatever she and Emily went through back home, wasn't going to fly here. She'd been inducted into the fucked up family of Mystic Fall residents. Even if she didn't get along with some of them, that wouldn't stop them from leaping to protect her or help her fight without a second thought.
"Did Matt tell you about us? The universal us from our home, not the us us of Matt and I. Which you know, was an us, but it ended okay and we're still close. I am totally on board the ss Spencer and Matt and basically what I'm saying is," she paused, because Caroline rambled. That was what she did. She needed to focus again. "We're a bunch of orphans. Mystic Falls was so fucked up, Spencer, but we got forced into banding together. Our friends became our family. And like families, we fight sometimes, but when it counts? We organize super fast and fight the enemy of anyone who is in our group."
She tentatively gave a small supportive squeeze of Spencer's thin shoulder before placing her hands back in her lap. She had a name, and that was a good place to start. "So, this Mona? You're not alone in fighting her. You'll have us watching your back. I'm sorry you had to see this. To see what became of your home and everything that goes with it. I wonder about mine too, but I think sometimes it's best not to know. This," she pointed to the picture, "this was cruel and it's going to be something that girl is going to regret. No matter if she just took the picture or was responsible for burning it down."
Caroline sighed, and looked around the mess of the pharmacy. It was just another reminder of how fucked up the world had become. It wasn't stopping either. Ugh.
"Let me take you back to Matt. He's so good at being supportive and I'm really good at kicking ass when needed. We'll get her, Spencer. You're going to win this one."
