Matt Donovan had a type. That was obvious. Because the second that Caroline had seen the message to Spencer on the net, she was in motion. Because if it had been a message for her? Caroline wouldn't have waited for someone to come with her. She damn sure wouldn't have asked someone to. No, Caroline would have blazed out in search of what had been dangled in front of her. Elena would have done the same.
Now it was Spencer doing so, and the blond vampire was right behind her. This could be a trap. Even if it wasn't, it was obviously emotionally disturbing. Plus there was a Hell God on the loose. There was no way that Caroline would stand by and let the pretty brunette get caught in the crossfires of a world gone mad. She wasn't going to let Matt lose someone else he loved.
It was a cautious distance that was kept. One meant to give the illusion of space, but allow Caroline to spring into action if needed. By the time she reached the Pharmacy she could smell the salt in the tears as easily as she heard the sobs and the sound of a heart beating. God, Caroline was over bullies. Like seriously. No matter what shape they came in, they were bullies, and enough was enough.
Walking in, she tried to ignore the body that was decaying on the ground. It was super gross. It was also irrelevant. That life had passed. The girl who looked small while she clutched her face in her hands was all that Caroline focused on. Moving across the store, she settled in front of her, in a crouch, so Spencer wouldn't have to get up to talk to her. "Hey." Do you want to talk about it? She left that out. Because obviously she didn't, but she looked like she needed to.
