C took the dolls from Haruka and stared at them for a moment. Two months ago she would have been overjoyed at them and she would have displayed them somewhere prominent even if it would have annoyed her ex roommate. The Moon Princess she looked at hardest of all. She had been so enraptured in the story of her and had wanted nothing more than to meet her.
It was just a story. A beautiful story. She wasn't calling Haruka a liar, just that she didn't see how something this beautiful could exist in such an ugly world. Her entire cell had been stripped practically bare. The purple unicorn poster had been ripped down in a fit of rage and Shannon had managed to hide every pony, every doll or sparkly object from view. She was a handy roommate.
"Stop being rude, C. She brought you a present," Dominique said, folding her arms over her chest, her long lanky slayer body resting against the bars as if she were corporeal.
"Thanks," Colleen said before casting the dolls aside. She didn't look at Haruka. She didn't want to see the familiar hurt look there. The look that said I want to make you better but I don't know how. She had seen that look reflected in so many of her friends faces. But Colleen didn't know how to make it better either.
