"I won't leave him here." She couldn't. If Adrian wasn't willing to go then Jill would stay. He had the chance to see his Aunt again, but she couldn't believe seeing her was worth the trade off of having to deal with everyone's literal ghosts and their anxieties. Too many emotions all at once. This had to be as much of hell for him as it was for her.
"Yeah, let me do that. Thanks, Rose. For everything." She hugged her tight. It had been a long year that they'd been separated. Longer than that really when you added the time she had been in Palm Springs. She had missed her so much, and she had no clue how she would get through this shadowkissed stuff without her.
That said, they were friends. And friends looked out for each other. Which meant is was Jill's turn to step up as well. Rose couldn't look after the others and herself if she was constantly focused on if Jill or Adrian were going to have a breakdown. Going with Eric would make things easier on everyone involved.
She turned to say goodbye to Eric Dragomir, but he'd already left. Staring at where he was for a long moment, she thought about saying something and then realized there was nothing left to say. He just wasn't as much a part of her life as he was Rose and Lissa's, and Jill was oddly okay with that. She quickly threw some things together in a bag and left a note for Vera in case she dared to come back. She didn't want her roommate to think she just left her. Once that was done, Jill left the room and knew Rose wouldn't be far, always watching and guarding from any potential threat. Even if the threat was something only she and Jill could understand.
