Rose turned a thin smile on Eric Dragomir. She was grateful for the approval but there was no denying that he had fallen from grace in her eyes. It was kind of sick but Victor had a point. If Eric had screwed around with a dhampir and gotten her pregnant it wouldn't have been as big a deal. But instead he'd gotten a Moroi woman knocked up and thank God he had because if it weren't for Jill, Lissa never would have had a vote let alone become queen.
Still, it felt good to be included in on the extraordinary young woman bit. Rose would always protect the Dragomirs. It had been imprinted in her since she was five and she and little Lissa had shared a sandwich to which Lissa had nibbled in dainty little squares and Rose had stuffed half of it in her mouth at once. A bond had been formed that day that would never be broken.
"I'm not babysitting you," Rose argued but well, wasn't that what she did? Professionally? Babysitting was engrained in her. It was kind of a harsh way of putting it, she liked to think of it as guarding someone and she never had a problem guarding Jill or Lissa. She did have a point though. Rose wanted to go check on Dimitri and hadn't really had a chance to. She knew his own demons were nipping at his heels.
"Where are you gonna go though?" Rose asked her, ignoring the ghosts for the moment. At least these ones had the decency to stay silent so that the two girls could talk for a moment. "That safe house? They want blood." Rose wrinkled her nose but she knew she was a hypocrite. How much blood had she given up for Dimitri and Lissa? Hell, if Jill needed blood now Rose would probably offer. She would never admit but she had become slightly addicted to the endorphins released during a bite.
