Who: Max and Steve Rogers What: Meeting. Talking. Where: The prison. Warnings: None.
Max lingered at the top of one of the watch towers, brown eyes watching the comings and goings of the prison life with little interest. The transgenic was always aware, always on her game, especially now. Now that Alec had decided to be an idiot and attack Faith. Of all the things to do, attacking the leader of one of the larger fractions was definitely not the smartest thing he'd ever done. He might as well have signed his own death warrant. The slayer had a lot of friends here and many of them were supernatural, inhuman beings themselves with just as much, if not more, power than the X5s possessed. He was stupid and Max called him out on it, but, like always, Alec never thought he was the one n the wrong...ever. In his mind, his actions were necessary, needed to accomplish his goal and nothing else, even hurting people, mattered to him. While she wasn't sure exactly what his goal was, she had a feeling it had to do with Rebekah. The Original vampire had gone missing some time ago and still hadn't popped up anywhere, dead or alive. Obviously, Alec had taken a shining and a bit of a favoritism towards her; it was the only reason he was willing to do whatever necessary, even fight Faith, to find out what happened to her.
Stepping over towards the edge, the part puma young woman raised her arms and stretched, lazily, like a cat. Now, she had this Steve to worry about too on top of Alec causing problems and putting himself at risk. He seemed honorable enough and trustworthy when talked to him over the network and if Alec hadn't killed him, well, he couldn't be a threat. He said he was familiar with their program; the program that spawned the transgenic program and the formation of soldiers with only the built in ability to kill and take orders without question. Max broke all of that, her entire group did, when they busted out of Manticore years ago. Later, she'd burned the place to the ground and freed many of those like her in the process. Alec had helped her, but, well, things had changed since then, too. He was more like his old self than the Alec who had backed her what seemed like eons ago. Hopefully, if she helped him, maybe a bit of that old Alec would come back....maybe. She knew he could be a good man even if he pretended to never be for his own protection.
Figuring Steve would be around eventually, Max made sure to let everyone in the prison know where she was so if he arrived and didn't immediately find her, someone could point him in the right direction. He said he wasn't interested in reinstating the program or returning any of the remaining transgenics to it, but Max didn't know what to believe anymore. He could be lying, but then how had he gotten past both Alec and Jondy. No, he had to be telling the truth to a certain degree, but if he was similar to them...maybe he could have a way to avoid being detected as a liar by them. She'd find out soon regardless.
