"I didn't deserve to be turned into the very thing I hated either Sook," Tara said beginning to drop the anger facade and clearly showing the pain beneath. Because that was the biggest issue. That she felt betrayed by her best friend. Being a vampire wasn't all that bad as long as Pam was helping to guide her and not treat her like a slave. That hadn't happened since shortly before they'd been separated but Tara still remembered the first couple of days after she'd been turned and Pam had been strict with her. Oh how she hated being commanded like she hadn't a mind of her own.
What little hold Tara had on keeping her guard and facade in tact began to crumble when Sookie mentioned family. Pam and Eric were her family now but she was still young enough to have strong ties to her human family. And seeing as the world had gone to shit one needed to cling to all that they had. Part of her missed her cousin more than anything. In the chaos after the outbreak he'd all but disappeared and there had been no sightings of him. For all she knew he could be dead or infected by the virus somewhere; a thought that brought blood tears to her eyes. Turning away Tara tried to reel in her emotions so that Sookie couldn't see the tears that were threatening to fall. In her mind she thought damn you Sook. Once she felt that her emotions were more under control Tara turned back around her facade back in place.
"Look, I've accepted what I am now. And while I miss the sun I wouldn't trade this and Pam in to have that back. But forgiving you isn't something that is going to happen overnight Sook." Tara said and placed her hands on her hips. They hadn't been in here all that long but Tara wondered why Pam hadn't come searching for her. For her Maker to not make note of her absence out in the bar things must have been quite slow or she was preoccupied.
