"It was an accident, a freak accident." Faith swallowed hard and shook her head. She didn't know why the universe had seen fit that she unburden herself in front of Spike but here he was so she guessed she was stuck with him. Objectively, she and Spike had a lot in common. Probably even more so than her and Angel but Faith wasn't exactly thinking clearly and reasonably and she didn't know why the British vampire was here.
She gulped down good bit of whiskey, feeling it burn on the way down. She wasn't sure that she had enough whiskey to get drunk tonight but she was going to do her best.
"We're slayers. I expect to lose some of them to vamps and demons. Dom..." Faith trailed off not exactly wanting to tell Spike what had happened to the redheaded slayer. If he didn't already know, he didn't need to know what Buffy had become, a slayer of slayers. She could only imagine what Spike had to live with. He wasn't really all that different from her and Angel at all.
"But a fuckin' beam fell on her leg. She fell down and it was an accident. There's no vamps to run out and stake, no demons to crush. There's no making this right. She's a slayer without a leg."
Faith would rather die. She would really rather die than live without a leg. A legless slayer was not a whole slayer and without the safety of the prison, C probably wouldn't make it with just one leg.
