As soon as Angel lifted the beam from her leg he got a good look at it and he heard her scream of pain before he carefully lowered it back down. There was no way he could see her keeping that leg but he wasn't going to let her know that. He felt himself start to want to panic but he couldn't. This was exactly what he needed right now, a reminder that he was needed and he could help.
"Your bat?" Angel almost chuckled at the small girl who was very close to death and had a crushed leg. She wanted her bat. Slayers did fight all the way out, he'd seen it happen. He saw she was shaking so he pulled his jacket off and carefully bunched it around her before handing her the bat. "You keep an eye on that aisle and I'll take care of the rest."
Angel reluctantly pulled out the cell phone Connor had given him, it was nicer and newer than the ancient one he carried. There were so many buttons and he thought he had it figured out but stared blankly at it for a moment before shooting off a message to Faith on the network. He didn't know her name so he just let her know he'd found an injured slayer in town at the pet store and to bring a doctor right away.
"I got a message to Faith, she's on her way." Angel ran his hand over his face as he looked at the busted front window. His eyes scanned around for something to block them in and he settled on one of the large shelves. He was making a god awful noise but he didn't care. This shelf would at least keep out the zombies and he could deal with anything else that came through them. He turned to check on the girl and she was swinging at a zombie that was lumbering toward her.
"Sorry about that." Angel apologized as he snapped its neck and tossed him away. She was looking very pale and he was struggling with keeping that worry from his face. He knelt back down beside her again and tucked his jacket around her a little more securely before grabbing a blanket for a horse and adding that. "So what were you doing here?"
