Objectivity and Domesticity Who: Bruce and Maria Where: Bruce (and for now, Maria's) Base When: Saturday Night What: Discussing Happenings Status: Incomplete Warnings: TBD
Maria had to admit, if it hadn't been for Loki and Clint switching bodies, the recent 'body switch' spell that had spread around would have just been funny. Since Loki hadn't actually done anything terrible to Clint other than leave him up in a tree near the end and build a nest, it was actually still kind of funny. Still, there were some things that she had on her mind and some of them at least revolved around the rogue god of mischief.
The meeting that had been arranged between Loki, Natasha, and Bruce had left her a bit on edge. The body switching had distracted her from it a bit, but she still wanted to talk about it, especially when it got to her that Bruce hadn't exactly been asked first if he wanted to go along with the meeting. She had to admit that it was all personal feelings that made her angry about that. Logically, he was the best one to go. Loki had some fear of him that he didn't really have of anyone else. Bruce had been the one who had actually been able to beat the ever loving hell ot of him, after all. Just what he had needed. If only the ass beating had left more lingering affects other than what seemed to be a fear of pissing him off again.
She almost worried she was losing her objectivity. She knew that she should be able to keep herself separate, but that was already becoming hard for her to do. She had been able to do it with Natasha and Clint because they were agents, trained for this sort of thing, and they were only friends. What was developing between her and Bruce was something more than that.
She could almost see Fury and his one eye glaring at her. No wonder he didn't discuss his personal life. She had worked with him for years and honestly had no idea if he had a wife, kids, or if he was even born or rather was bred in a government experiment to create someone who's face showed the least amount of emotion other than anger. (She had Phil had come up with that one together once upon a time.)
Bruce was working on something, so, mostly out of boredom, she had decided to be as domestic as she really got, which was cooking a meal. She'd lived on a military base, then SHIELD's base, for so long that one might think she'd forgotten how to cook for herself, but that wasn't the case. Basically raising herself had taught her how to do pretty much everything for herself. "Bruce!" she called out. "Food's almost ready if you want to come on out."
