Maria wasn't sure if she wanted to completely trust her own grip, either. Sure, she was strong for a woman due to her SHIELD training plus military background, but there was still so much that could go wrong. This man obviously had some supernatural abilities, considering he offered to turn into animals, and she saw him turn into a group of bats, so she was hoping that super strength was among those abilities. "Thank you," she said.
She clung hard to him as they plummeted to the ground, pressing her face against his shoulder so that she didn't have to watch. The landing was a lot easier than she had been expecting, but it was still a relief to feel the ground underneath her feet again, soggy as it was. "I'm Maria, and thank you again for getting me down from there." He easily could have left her up there, after all. "And fairly obvious, but I've learned not to assume anything these days," she said with a slight smile. "I'm alright, just a bit scratched up from scrambling up the tree in a hurry." Nothing that wouldn't heal up in a day or two.
