Maria was not going to lie: she was not looking forward to this. Of course, she was more than happy to go out and investigate claims of someone claiming to work with this world's remnants of government. She wanted to know if this woman's claims were authentic or just made up BS. Not that Maria really cared about whether the claims were authentic or not, since this person had kidnapped people and was refusing to give them back, but it was good to know that whether they were being lied to or not.
No, doing all of that was fine. Maria wasn't looking forward to flying. Sure, Maria had flown a hellicarrier, helicopter, etc, but she'd never been flown around without something to encase herself in. She wasn't afraid of heights technically, but she'd never actually flown without...well, anything around her. She'd never taken Stark up on his joking offers to fly her around with his suit when she worked for him, and now she was kind of wishing that she did. Maybe then she wouldn't feel so nervous about this.
She had done some research, and found a nearby base in Tacoma that was still far away enough that they could tell if there really was government starting back up or if Renfro was full of it. If they were driving, it wouldn't be a bad trip but, especially with stalled out vehicles on the highway, it would be an all day affair. Maria wondered if Carol flew faster than a car or not.
Strapped up with her weapons and praying that Carol wouldn't somehow drop her while flying, she made her way to the front of the prison where she was supposed to meet Carol. She'd even made the decision to French braid her hair back to make sure that it didn't end up flying everywhere. Might as well try and make sure her hair didn't turn into a wild bird's nest during all of this.
