It had been a few days since his sudden appearance to another universe, pulled away from the Earth he had known for six thousand years and all the comforts that came with it. At first Crowley did what he believed he did best, adapt. He secured himself a home among what those not in the prison referred to as the Housing Projects, and filled it with plants from an abandoned florist shop. And he spent his time browsing the network and yelling at his new plants until they stopped being their dreary overgrown and droopy selves and became plants worthy of being in his home. Yes, surely he had adapted well enough that it was really not that different than his Earth.
It was imperative to point out that he was not in fact as good at adapting as he thought he was.
He was reminded in many instances that he was in fact not in his Earth. From the different layout of his new residence -not at all his choice of aesthetic and the view nothing like his flat in Central London- to the fact that if he went anywhere at all it he had to walk (He could in fact teleport but Crowley often forgot that he could). He missed his Bently. He had it since 1926, brand new. And now he was without it.
But more than he missed his beloved car, more than he missed his flat, he missed his best friend. He missed Aziraphale.
I need to get drunk. he thought, frowning. He wasn’t entirely sure where one could acquire alcohol in a zombie apocalypse, surely humans still liked to drink away their sorrows of the world ending, but maybe he could find some laying about in an old bar. So that was where he went. It took him some time searching, hard to tell what building was what in a run down city it turned out, but eventually he found one.
Sauntering in as if he owned the place, any locks that could have stopped him miraculously unlocked just as he touched the handle, and looked around. It was certainly shabby, but not in a ransacked sort of way. Not fully. Maybe there was booze to be had after all.
Lifting his sunglasses up, there weren’t any mortals here to see, Crowley moved further in and began inspecting the bar, searching for some decent scotch or wine.
