Jill understood why Eddie was apologizing to her but she didn't want it. It wasn't like any of this was his fault and Jill was doing her best to be sensible about it. She trusted Eddie with her life and she hoped that she could trust him to be honest with her about things if she asked him. Jill had a feeling she would as soon as she felt comfortable doing so.
"No, I'm okay." Jill didn't want to be weak. She didn't even want to appear so although she was sure the look on her face showed otherwise. Eddie was so strong and he jumped at any given moment when danger arose and Jill admired that. She wanted to be just as brave.
"There are people who know me but I don't know them," she said, knowing that it was going to be kind of awkward to be around people who must have spent time with Jill only for her to forget all about them.
"Angeline. Sydney's sister. They talked to me for a bit. I was kind of embarrassed to not even know how to respond to them." And Jill knew she would have to fix that by learning all about these new faces.
