Eddie had already been thinking that Jill was somewhere else in the timeline, and now he had his answer on that. He would have left it for Sydney but he wasn't going to tell Jill to stop talking to him. Eddie just wasn't sure to say for himself, or about himself. He was still feeling pretty ashamed for kissing her. That was inappropriate and he knew it.
"A lot has happened since then," Eddie admitted.
He tried to remain neutral about it, in both his expression and tone. But it was disappointing that Jill was so far behind them in the timeline. At least she wasn't a sophomore back at St. Vladimir's. That would have made him feel extra inappropriate. Something about the difference a year could make.
They were in Palm Springs when the Lee incident had gone down, even though it felt like a long time ago. Lee had taught them a lot about some of the mysteries still yet to be discovered about their species but he knew how traumatic it had been for Jill. Lee had liked her and Eddie thought Jill liked him back.
"If it makes you feel any better you start dating Micah after that. He's a lot nicer."
Not only was Micah nicer but he was a popular high school human. Sydney had agreed to let Jill date a human to help her blend in better at school. Jill had such a hard time at Amberwood at first but Micah had been her key into the popular crowd there.
It had been difficult for Eddie to watch Jill with the guy that looked just like the ghost of Mason. But Eddie had Angeline to distract him back then.
