"I know Klaus and Rebekah." It was amazing how quickly that rolled off of her tongue. Even better it wasn't a lie, it was very much the truth. She did know Klaus and Rebekah. They hated her guts but she knew them. Klaus had tried to create hybrids with every last drop of her blood when she had been human and Rebekah had been the one to kill her. Elena knew she was in for a guaranteed staking if she ever saw either one of them again.
Not that this vampire needed to know that. The only thing this vampire needed to do was face her and pay attention to her for the next several minutes while the people escaped out into the woods, into the open arms of freedom in the next town over where Elena lived with her boyfriend and the people they took care of.
"You could just point me in the direction if its not too much trouble. I can find the way myself." She smiled at him uncertainly. Every muscle in her body was taut and tense and prepared for a fight but she tried to appear relaxed.
