"Yeah, no. Everything went pretty smoothly," she said as she leaned back into him. She curled up on his lap and leaned against him, the feeling of his skin on her skin soothing as it always was. His hand was on her head again, fingers in her hair. She loved that too. She sighed again, leaning even more heavily into him. There was always this. She could always come home and find his cold comfort.
"There was this one thing. One of Rebekah's vampires was there. He was sitting on a rooftop near where I got them out. I went up to distract him but he knew what I was up to." She could immediately feel Stefan get tense beneath her. "No, it was okay. He seemed... different. I think his humanity was turned on, Stefan. He wanted to help but it was like... I don't know, maybe he was afraid to."
She didn't know if that made Clint an ally or not. He had left things kind of on the bad side that hopefully he wouldn't be on duty next time they ran into one another. Would he remain loyal to Klaus and Rebekah? It was hard not to when they seemed to control everything in and around Everett.
