stefan salvatore ([info]humane) wrote in [info]zfuturelogs,
Every time Elena came back home, it was a relief for Stefan. He worried about her, as he always did and when she headed straight for his arms, they automatically wrapped around her as he pulled her close. She was all he had left. Faith was gone, his brother was gone and somehow they found each other again. He wasn't delusional, he knew why, but he pushed those reasons aside. It didn't matter now. All that mattered was that they stuck together through this world. That they had hope for something better than this.

The moment she pulled away, his eyes were on her, his fingers pushing away strands of hair from her face. There was something on her mind, something she was thinking about.

"Jeremy and I checked the length of the camp, did a head count so to speak, the usual," Stefan said. It was amazing that Jeremy was still here, that he hadn't gotten rounded up at Rebekah and Alec's farm. Elena still had him and Stefan knew that he was the most important person in her life, he'd do anything to protect them both. He couldn't lose them, not like this and not now after they had gotten so far.

"There's something on your mind, tell me," he said softly and sat down, pulling her on his lap so he could hold her. "Did you get everyone to safety?" He asked, wondering if something had gone wrong and she was hiding something. Every moment they were apart, he fought the urge to go after her. She had decided to go on these missions and the more and more she went, the easier it got for him, but it didn't stop him from thinking that it could go horribly wrong. He'd never forgive himself. It would just be something else to add to the list.
