Who: Marco & Cecilia
When: Who knows for sure? But after lunch
Where: Cecilia's room
After the nightmare that the day before had been, Marco appreciated the chance to sleep in late. Any day in Zenith where someone could sleep in late was a blessing, or as much as something could be a blessing in their situation. Sleep had never come easy to Marco, but now that he was in the middle of withdrawal, he just wanted to sleep through the days, until the cramps stopped. It hadn't exactly gone well.
Marco thought he had slept in late today, finally, but it was still dark when he woke up. He curled up in bed and tried to fall back to sleep for a while, but he really did feel awake. Grouchy, cramped up, but awake. That was weird. Sure, he'd gone to bed early, but it looked darker now than it had at 4 AM the day before...
It took a bit for Marco to realize what was up. He went to the bathroom, and did the routine that he was supposed to be getting used to. He didn't turn on the lights in his bedroom until he was done, and jumped when he realized why it was so dark. His room had a big window, and the whole damn thing was shiny black metal. Marco wondered if he was hallucinating at first, and he shook as he walked up to the window and opened it, then pressed on the metal in the hopes that it might just fall off. He wasn't surprised when it didn't. A wave of nausea went through him at the idea of being trapped in his room, and he couldn't figure out why, after he'd agreed to clean up, why everyone would do this to him now. He pushed harder against the metal, then rushed to his bedroom door to attempt to break out that way, and was just as startled to find that the damn thing opened without any resistance. Thank god for small fucking favors.
He paced the hallway a few times, then poked his head into the game room to find the windows in there covered with the same dark metal that covered his own. Same deal when he checked downstairs, with the gym and the lounge. Right, so this was a housewide thing. He went to go out onto the second story balcony, just to get rid of some of that trapped feeling, but the door didn't budge. As much as he wasn't surprised, it made him uncomfortable as hell, and he went back up to his room wondering if they were pumping in air, or if they would all suffocate if they couldn't get the doors and windows opened.
And as soon as that stressful thought popped into his head was when things started to go downhill. As he returned to his room, the chorus of sound that was ever-present to him seemed to turn against him all at once, and he tried his best to ignore it by crawling back into bed and closing his eyes and waiting for it to quiet down. If he just tried to calm down, and focus on his breathing, or on his aches, or anything else..."
He opened his eyes in time to see a dark figure staring at him from the corner of his room. He screamed. Couldn't help it.
Two minutes later he was downstairs, frantically knocking on Cecilia's door.
