Owen stood when Cecilia did, and Dempsey looked up at him expectantly. Owen wondered if the dog would follow, or run off on his own once they began to walk. It would be kind of nice to train him to stick nearby rather than needing a leash, but that would come in time. Assuming They didn't take all the animals away one morning. He wouldn't put it past Them.
"Utility room," Owen agreed. Not wanting to risk Dempsey running off, Owen leaned down to slip his hand beneath the puppy's belly, lifting him against his chest. "Can't think of anywhere else they'd put things, except maybe the shed, though I can't imagine why. We could always head into town later too, and see if there's anything there we could use that we missed, or that they added last night."
