The feeling was mutual. Three heads turned in unison to look up at Owen when the door opened, and Cecilia's eyes went at least slightly wider. It was only then that she considered that everyone had been given something breathing and furry.
Neptune's tail began wagging again, thumping against the ground with each go, and the husky puppy gave a little yip before climbing onto Cecilia's leg. That brought Cecilia out of her shock, and she began to smile. Goddammit, she thought. I have no defense for puppies. This isn't fair. "Me too," she confirmed. Then, after a moment's thought, "You didn't get a dalmatian? My world view is shattered." She wasn't sure at all how Owen was going to react to this, so it felt best to lead with a joke.
