Oliver had kept mostly quiet for the duration of the meeting, taking up his normal seat at the end of the table opposite Cecilia. He wasn't surprised at the turn out, or the responses from the people in the house, particularly after giving Edwin a heads up on what the meeting was going to entail once the hangover had subsided. It was the first time he'd really seen his friend legitimately angry, and with more than enough reason.
Beside him, Jack had hunched over in his chair, his elbows resting on the table, his forehead cradled in the palms of his hands as Daphne rubbed his back. Under the table, the toes of Oliver's foot pressed lightly against the side of Jack's. While he didn't know the man very well, it became apparent that when Oliver tried to shift a little so it wasn't so obvious, and Jack nudged in again, likely without realizing it, that just having contact seemed to be what the blond wanted.
His eyes subtly moved to Edwin, sitting halfway down the table from him, still not entirely sure why he'd opted to stay that far away. Maybe it was just habit, as he and Georgie usually occupied space around that area, but the distance bothered him.
Marco, on the other hand, was doing him proud, not only for having shown up in the first place, but for participating. He smiled a little into his hand as his chin rested on his upraised arm, then leaned back in his chair before speaking. "Chances are good we're not gonna get any straight answers outta Them any time soon when it comes to the people who were here before. Not to say we don't care, but we can't do anythin' for them right now. Best to focus on what we know we've got, even if it's just that one number. Might be a good idea to take a survey of whose number is what, and who they know might qualify under that. Which side of the family, where applicable." He glanced at Marco, then around the table again. "Might not give us much now, but if we can get the meanings of any of those other numbers down the line it might give us somethin' we can use. Better to get it all down now instead of tryin' to do it all at once later." And hopefully it would let people feel productive for a little while, like they were all working toward something.
