"I feel like, okay yeah it's sick, but we're here and it can always be worse, so we might as well make the best of it," Kai admitted. "It's less stressful that way."
She grinned a little. "Oh, that was easy. They gave me whatever I wanted. There's more than one reason I call it the princess tower," she said. "They gave me this little request box on my computer where I could submit, like, well... anything. At first I wasn't very imaginative about it. I just submitted orders for foods and treats, movies and games. Then I realized as long as I wasn't a smartass about it, asking for something I knew they couldn't or wouldn't give me, they gave me anything I asked for. So I asked for bleach and hairdye, told them the brands I used at home, and it appeared in the magic box." Kai did not tell her that they sometimes made her do things in return for these little treats. It wasn't relevant, not to her mind. "So I had any material possession I could feasibly want in that limited amount of space, I just couldn't leave."
