Theo was never an early riser, but the cold weather was altering her sleep patterns. The others in the house had supplied her with a men's hoodie that her small form swam in and two pairs of leggings that she'd been doubling up with; for the most part, it kept her warm inside the house, but no less miserable. Finding herself suddenly awake, she stared at the ceiling in her room, wishing she could will herself back to sleep. She groaned when she found it impossible, and decided to get up to get something to eat.
Making her way out into the hall, she heard singing from the lounge down by the stairs. It was faint, very faint, but the lyrics were familiar. Whether this was the start of some of the strange tests or something else entirely, Theo found herself curious enough to explore the possibilities. She padded quietly to the lounge, sticking her head inside, and saw a very sad looking girl.
"Well, you look like someone kicked your puppy. Everything OK, aside from waking up where you obviously don't wanna be?"
