Who: Freddy & Nadya When: January 20, 9:30a Where: Gitters Coffeehouse What: Freddy goes back to an old haunt, listens to inauguration coverage
Big day - huge day! All morning Freddy had been taking opinions of Barack Obama, much similar to the ones he took during the election. The questions were given to his sound operator, to make sure no one planned on dogging the President-Elect. Freddy had been a supporter of Obama's since the start, and believed in everything the man said. Change was coming, and it was going to be good. Freddy had always been quick to defend President Bush, simply because it was the proper thing to do t o s how that he was well-versed in politics and procedures. Deep down, though - and he knew it came across in his voice - there was a definite affinity for the first African American President. Unfortunately, with his show only going until nine in the morning, Freddy was quick to leave the office and head down to Gitters. He'd done it during the last Presidental innauguration, too. He was open to ideas, and liked to know exactly who was covering what. He wasn't big enough to actually go to Washington D.C. - who would know Five with Freddy up there anyway? And he thought it would actually be a little nerve wracking, trying to talk to the President!
Instead, to Gitters he went. The place was buzzing. Since he was on radio, it was much easier to slip into normalcy than if he were on television. Ordering a black coffee, Freddy sat down with the newspaper in front of him. He had a bud in his right ear, half-listening to the commentary, anticipating Obama's Presidental Speech. Big day. Huge day.
