The date. Who: Jackson and Gatsby Where: The art room. What: Gatsby and Jack's first first aka second date. When: Tuesday evening Rating: I'd say it probably won't be above PG-13 as of now. Status: Private/Incomplete
The "second" date was supposed to be comfortable. Even though technically it was Gatsby and Jack's first date, they had both agreed to treat it like their second date: no awkwardness, just comfortable. And since Jack had seemed incredibly adamant about the date being that evening, Gatsby decided to try to make it as comfortable as possible.
After classes were over for the day he retreated into the art room. Most of the underclassmen thought he was working on his thesis, and while the room continued to be littered with a lot of his unfinished pieces (it gave it character), really he just decided to use it as the setting for their date. That way, they wouldn't have to brace themselves against the cold. And they could easily hide out in the supply closet if for some reason the security decided to do an art-room-bed-check.
Plus. They had limited budgets. He figured that a comfortable date could be cost-efficient as well as cozy. So he pulled one of the black art tables to the center of the room, covered it in a bit of cloth from the supply closet, and set two chairs at it. Gats didn't want it to seem like too much of a date, though, so, yeah, no candles or anything. Plus a lot of the paints in the room were flammable, and while he was willing to risk detention for this kid he was not ready to risk expulsion.
The food was a surprise. For later.
Once he was finished, he decided to surprise Jack at his door. He hadn't told the latter where and when to meet him, so it was definitely bound to be a surprise when he knocked on Jackson's dorm door at approx. 7. Wearing the same casual clothes he had worn earlier (no awkwardness! just a cool, hanging out sort of date).
He just hoped, as he knocked, that Jackson would see the strange aesthetic and theme in their art room, on-campus, cute sort of date...
