Well, I don't know the books, and unless I quit my job (which is starting to look likely at this point...), I won't have time to read *or* RP. But I do want to offer a link that is a great RP resource, if you need input in setting things up. There's all sorts of mod tutorials and layouts and other miscellaneous things that might help out. It's called rp_tutorials.

As I mentioned in the other post, I've never RPed before (unless Dungeons and Dragons counts), but I hope I'm qualified as an experienced fic writer. ^_^

I'm not sure whom I'd want to play, though. I don't feel like I have as good a grasp of the characters as I do with the Haru boys, and as I mentioned on my Boku meta post, I really can't stand Jouchi, although I do like Kazama (and I adore Yumi and Hosaka):

Part of me wants to break up Jouchi and Kazama, and find Kazama someone more considerate, but I don't really feel right about breaking up a canon couple. An alternate plot bunny that's been percolating in my head for awhile is to have Katou know Jouchi from somewhere (they're cousins, or Jouchi's older brother went to school with Katou or something like that), and they meet again when Katou and Iwaki show up to work in the studio with the Boku crew. Katou observes or overhears Jouchi treating Kazama selfishly (like the whole "I'm gonna have sex with you even though you're exhausted from work" thing), and he gives the younger man a figurative (and maybe a literal) slap upside the head, then sits him down and gives him some advice about relationships.

So, I don't know, maybe it would work better if I played Katou in a Boku/Haru crossover. But other than smacking Jouchi upside the head, I haven't thought all that much about what happens after the books end.

Ooh, wait...I lied. I have been wondering if Yumi might get a chance to see his kid again. He tries to get visitation rights, or the ex-wife dumps the kid on him for some reason? Maybe she remarries and the new husband doesn't want the kid around? And how would the kid react to having a gay stepdad? (There was actually another manga with a similar plot, Shout Out Loud, which I also mentioned in the meta post.)

And this is completely OT, but I just realized that Jouchi's agent Tanahashi looks a bit like how I imagine Fujimoto, Onozuka's manager in my Comeback series, except Fujimoto looks a bit more cold and ruthless. Maybe I subconciously had the image in my mind, although I was also modeling the character after a manager in the Penguin Revolution manga.

Hmm, if we really do this, I'll need to make some Boku icons...

Have you seen that add in Boku no Koe (it must be the first volume, because that's the only one I own) that shows Katou and Yumi watching Iwaki and Hosaka doing some radio dialogue? It's so sweet, with Yumi getting all jealous about gorgeous Hosaka standing next to Iwaki, and freaking out because his voice sounds like Yumi's. (Must be played by the same voice actor, I guess.)

I just checked; it was at the end of chapter 4 in Book 2--maybe you saw it from the scanalations? Anyway, it is really cute! And yes, Katou is freaking out because Yumi's voice sounds like Iwaki's (because they are played by the same voice actor). ^_^

Must be the scanlated version, because I don't own the second volume.

Yup - hence the appearance of the two guys on the Boku canon list. I really love how the characters from one series might show up in another, like with Iwaki and Katou in WMLM...

Yes, I like it too. Lots of fantasy material, mixing all the characters together.
I haven't read WMLM - just the first volume, perhaps. It didn't grab that strongly; I looked a couple of times for scanlations, had little luck, and let it go.

WMLM becomes vastly better. I am currently scanlating the missing two volumes, since it doesn't seem as if the scanlators are going to finish them anytime soon. It is worth a read, good story, great characters and lots of drama and a satisfying conclusion.

Grasp on characters? I think that is why Boku seems like a good idea. In my opinion, RPing characters is a really good way to get into their heads (and force you to study canon in detail), and Boku does deserve a bit of attention; after I reread it twice, I find it is a really a good story although I don't like all the characters. (On the other hand, I now have a crush on Jouchi's manager. :D

Jouchi/Kazama gives off a Harry/Draco feeling, and I am not really able to understand or play any of them. And dub-con=urgh.

As for Tanahashi: now you need to get that manager (Fujimoto) laid, because he's damned hot! Glasses! OMG!
