Title: Saganaki
Prompt: #5, Fire
Pairing: Iwaki/Katou
Rating: G
Summary: Yoshizumi invites the guys over for a meal.
Note: Saganaki is a dish in Greek-American restaurants where a pan of cheese is set on fire.
“‘Saganaki’? That sounds like a Japanese city,” Katou joked.
“So it does.” Yoshizumi’s lips twitched as Iwaki muttered “Baka!” and smacked his partner. “You’d probably say the same thing about ‘tsatziki,’ I bet.”
Katou’s expression took on a dreamy glaze. “So many things that end with ‘ki’ are so delici-- mfff!” He broke off as a towel smacked him in the face.
“Do not nauseate the chef,” Yoshizumi ordered. “Otherwise, I will set
you on fire instead.”
Katou’s eyes danced. “You’re far too late for that, Yoshi-- MMFFF!” Yoshizumi rolled his eyes heavenward as Iwaki gagged Katou with the towel.
Title: Fair to See
Prompt: #5, Fire
Pairings: Ryo/Dee (FAKE) and Iwaki/Katou
Rating: PG
Summary: Sometimes a photograph is a mirror.
At his desk, Ryo spread out images from the previous night’s hotel bombing. Looking over Ryo’s shoulder, Dee let out a low whistle. “Spectacular.”
Ryo murmured, “They’re almost beautiful, the flames. But what a mess--”
“I didn’t mean that,” Dee interrupted. He lightly pressed a fingertip against a snapshot of a blond Japanese man and a dark-haired one locked in a fervent kiss. “Not a sight you see every day-- not even in New York.”
“No,” Ryo whispered. He gazed at the two men-- the soot on their clothes, their hands buried in each other’s hair-- “Spectacular,” he agreed.
