Who: Adam and Naiya
Where: On the campus
When: 3ish
What: Lunch and going for a walk
Sam had practically shoved him out the door. Which was a bit unnerving, since it was his medlab. He was feeling a lot better and had asked for a laptop so he could send messages to people at least. He was sitting up and eating. And had spent a good fifteen minutes insisting Adam needed to get out of there almost as badly as he did. Which was still going to be a few days. One just did not brush off getting blasted in the back at point blank range. Sam was lucky to be alive and as well off as he was.
After he was sure Sam was situated and settled, Adam headed to his own suite to shower and change into something that wasn't scrubs and his lab coat. Which is all he'd been wearing the last week or so. Dressed in a blue long sleeved tee shirt and a pair of jeans, he was actually glad not to look or feel like a doctor right now.
One last look at the painting he'd been working on about the lady he was going to meet. It'd gotten put on the backburner, his job came first. Which was sort of the reason he was still single at 30. He was married to his job. Jobs...
Crap, he had a midterm to give next week and he hadn't even started on the test yet. Adam pulled the note down off his desk and sighed. It was one of those times when he wished he wasn't the only medical personnel on the office. Well, he'd been wishing that for the last week. He'd even worked Friday and Saturday, which meant he hadn't had his usual day off at all. No wonder he was so tired and grumpy.
Okay, lunch and a walk with Naiya. There was just something about her. She was so calm. It was soothing. She might seem cold on the surface, but that wasn't what he saw in her. There was something distinctly vulnerable about her, and that was as compelling as her intelligence and education and beauty.
And now he was mooning over the woman instead of meeting her. Oi, he was more scatterbrained than ever. He really needed a day off. Badly. Giving his appearance once last once over, he headed to actually meet her. For lunch. Yes. He had eaten earlier.
He thought...
