It sounded a little lame, but it was the truth, and that didn't keep the lopsided grin from staying on his face. He felt a bit flattered by the whole thing. He watched as she paid for her own meal, waiting until she was finished so he could order what he wanted. And yes, part of him had planned on treating her. Still, there was an amusing, if nagging question lingering at the back of his mind, and as she stood in front of him, he couldn't help but mutter, amused, in her ear.
