Rating: G
Kitty was bored. She had been practicing her automatic phasing all morning, and she hadn't seen Rogue either. She seemed to think that Rogue was having a lot of bad dreams at night lately. It worried her even though she didn't say anything to Rogue about it. After the 'incidents' with Logan though she had started to wear earplugs at night. It was a preventative to her waking up and touching Rogue on accident. She knew it made Rogue nervous, and jumpy even if she did cloak herself from head to foot with a long night dress. She sighed as she got up from her bed, and walked to the door, opened it, and walked down the hall toward the recreation room.
Maybe she could find someone to talk to. Maybe Rogue, or Jubilee she hadn't seen or talked to her a lot all summer. Not since Logan and her had moved into the boat house. Storm would be even better, but she was still off with her family in Africa. She sometimes worried she was so long, and she really didn't know what she would do if something happened to Ororo. She had been a mother figure to her, confidante, and one of her first best friends since she got here at twelve years old. The first to tell her about the institute and her powers. The one to intrigue her into wanting to come here to gain control of her powers, and make them useful.
Logan had been there too when she was first approached to come to the Xavier Institute, but she supposed as always Logan was there for security only. And that was what he had become to her in the beginning a sort of father figure that she could run to when upset, scared, or unsure of herself. She supposed when she looked back on it he was her furry, big security blanket made into a man. Now, he had become someone that she went to for training, and maybe when no one else was available she would spill her guts to him, but that had become less and less of late. He had been in the boat house most summer, and there really wasn't much need to bug him about training during the off school time. However, now that she realized that she had got a bit weak over summer from the pool party when she tried to get out of the pool. She might ask him to do some training with her before school started. She planned on trying her best in school then she had even the previous year. Her goal was to be good enough to be asked onto the X-men team.
She finally got to her destination, opened the Rec. room door, and entered. No one she really knew was in the room at the moment. Just the younger ones, and they were watching cartoons, and playing games. They looked up some of them and smiled, she smiled back, and then plopped on a chair, picked up a magazine, and started reading while idly looking up at the tv every once and awhile, and giggling.
