Who: Jean OT Logan
When: After the VISION
Where: Logan's rooms at Haven
What: Jean wakes up from the nightmare and goes looking for Logan. He DID offer, after all.
Warning: Adultiness. Nothing too graphic, but adult themes.
Jean had been settling into life at Haven as best she could. She missed Eddie something awful, but at the same time, she knew this was where she needed to be. She didn't know how she knew it, but she did.
Everyday she spent time with Nate talking to him, trying to reassure him that things were all right here, that he could come home now. It didn't seem to do any good, although it did make her feel better. Especially now that he had been moved from the infirmary to his own room. Now she could pretend he was just sleeping. Not dying. Never dying. In fact, if the healers were correct, he was perfectly healthy. Just not home. After her daily visit, Jean had taken a walk in the snow, out to the frozen lake. Things were changing. There was a tension in the air now that hadn't been there before, but she didn't know why and she wasn't going to snoop in peoples minds to find out. She figured that if it concerned her or Nate, the professor would tell her himself.
Cold, she'd returned to her new room in the housing annex named for her brother's beloved. It seemed fitting for her that she lived there, given the name and their situation. She'd changed from her snow-caked jeans into her pajamas's and shoved her icy feet into some fuzzy bunny slippers. She'd made herself a cup of cocoa and settled down on the small couch she'd bought with a one of the books of Greek poetry she'd managed to salvage from the boxes that the had been locked in storage from her parent's estate. She didn't know if it was better or worse that her rooms were not mostly furnished from the things that had survived the flare from her parent's house. Probably better. It actually was feeling like home now.
She fell asleep on the couch, only to wake up screaming just before dawn, the book having fallen from her fingers an she had curled into a fetal position on the floor, echoes of the word "GO!" ringing in her head.
She rolled to her knees, gagging in reaction, panting as she tried to get herself under control.
Shaking with ever step, she grabbed her fluffy green bathrobe that Eddie had bought her when she'd first stayed with him, and went to see if that offer for a beer still stood. She could always say the dream had told her to 'go', right?
Logan's door was just down the hall. Granted, he'd said anytime, but it was only about five in the morning. He might not be up. Or worse, he could already be up and about for the day. Somehow it was one thing to drink a beer in the middle of the night. It was something else entirely, at least to the proper Jean, to start ones day with alcohol. It marked one as a dissolute. Although after that dream, she might well be.
Knocking on the door, she chewed her lip wondering if he'd be pissed at her for waking him up and bothering him before dawn.
