He had orders to kill
Who: Wild Child, OT Polaris
What: A hope, a chance or another kill. One of those.
When: Sunday evening
Where: A mile or so outside of the Haven
Warnings: Violence, language likely
The Weapon had been performing well, there had been something strange about his behavior after his last major kill. The monitors had concluded that it had been some reaction to the fact that the now deceased target had been female and possibly had 'entertained' the Weapon at some point. Testing his loyalty became even more important, ensuring they had control over him and he would kill upon command, as they had been conditioning him. This target was important, another female, a female he knew, and one from the Haven he had fled to. She was a perfect target and they had gone to great lengths to set up this encounter.
It was roughly a mile outside of the Haven, a wooded area and the managers were monitoring from a van hidden not far away. It was out of sight, but close enough for all their monitoring systems to keep close track of their investment. It was a delicate balance, the woods were thick enough to keep the van easily hidden, but that same thickness made it difficult to keep the instruments working. While most were confident in their work and control, there was still some obvious tension about this test.
Kyle Gibney crouched high inside a tree, waiting for the car to drive beneath him, then come to a stop. They had rigged a breakdown and Weapon Omega sprang as soon as the car door opened. He launched himself claws-first at the green hair as soon as it was in sight. His heart raced as his mind fought against itself. He had orders to kill, but he did not want to kill her. This conflict would never have arisen if not for the sudden spike in his healing factor and a false sense of security and control by those pulling the strings. They had not anticipated the healing factor of the Weapon kicking into high gear due to the poisons of the first target, they had not anticipated him gaining a shred of himself through that spike and they had not anticipated him hiding this so well.
He launched himself towards the green haired female, though he did not simply try to slash her throat as he was ordered. Rather, he tried to ram her, throw her to the ground or pin her against the door. He put his claws to her throat, ready to spring away if necessary. His face, long hair and truly every other part of his body, was wrapped behind thick, dark material, so his features were impossible to recognize, but Lorna would likely remember the posture from when Kyle had pounced her for a hamburger, not so long ago. He was braced and ready for any retaliation she had ready, he knew Polaris was no wilting daisy, and he was fully prepared for her to hit back, and hit hard.
