Ric nodded and leaned in to brush his lips carefully against Star's, trying to avoid the deep split in his lower lip so as to not pain the man any more. "Then we'll find out." He paused before he slid his hand down Star's arm to catch his hand before he added, "Together." They had gone into Xavier hand in hand once before to try and settle things with Star's mind, they could do it again, Ric had no doubt or fear.
Rictor was caught somewhere between a chuckle and a sigh at Star's reaction to the mention of his birthday, shaking his head. "I don't need any big gift, I'm a simple guy, right?" He tried to soothe with a disarming grin. "And it doesn't matter who pays. It matters who I go with... who I spend the time with. That's what matters." He lifted one rough palm to settle against Shatterstar's jaw before issuing another sigh, his head dropping to one side.
"Come on, we need to clean you up. You're bleeding from..." There was a pause as Ric's eyes swept that bigger body, taking in the state of his face, elbows, arms, hands, knees, legs... "Everywhere." He blew out a breath as he pulled himself up and offered his hands to help Shatty up, if he would take the offer. Concern was still in his eyes, something was still not quite right, but Ric was trying, and he was attempting to not beat the dead horse. If only the concern would stop pounding at the back of his mind.
