Re: Team 2: Jamie, Ruth, Betsy
Jamie's mind really was a mess. Always going a mile a minute, mind on every topic all at once. There were even little, faint echoes of the personality fragments that would be made human if he were to spawn a dupe or ten at that time. If there ever was a reason to learn shielding, Jamie was it. Glancing into his mind, it was no wonder he was always so odd and chatty, talking out loud helped him to ignore the chorus of voices and thoughts constantly running through his mind. The fact that he was not entirely ADHD was something of a tribute to his willpower. Sadly he was no telepath, not anywhere near one, so he had no idea how to 'quiet down' his mind.
"Soooo, no one home?" Jamie spoke up when only silence seemed to come from the room. Being the only non telepath in a telepathic conversation was kind of lonely, not to mention you were never up on the latest jokes. He was about to step away when Betsy said she could hear whoever was in there. Jamie blinked, looked around, then shrugged. Well, so long as one of them knew what was going on...
He chirped up when he heard his outfit referenced, nodding. "Right, I'm here to help," he offered with a smile, not sure if she would be able to see him at all. "Do you need to be carried?" He glanced to Betsy with a look of 'Come on, throw me a bone here.' "I can carry her, a dupe or two if nothing else," he offered with a little grin. Hopefully she would not be bringing out some amazonian woman and make him regret the offer.
On the other side of the floor, the Jamie dressed as a doctor nodded mentally at Ruth. He knew she could not see a physical nod, so maybe a mental one would work better? He was not even sure his mental nod was the kind of mental nod telepaths used... now he was off on rabbit trails again. Focus, Jamie!
"Nurse," he called, turning to face her. He lowered his voice to a stage whisper as he continued. "Can you get me a sedative? I really don't want to have to call security here..." He waited only until her back was turned, then whipped out the little tranq gun he was carrying. Squeezing the trigger, he sent the dart flying, it landing square in her rump. He released Ruth, hopefully she would be expecting that and not go flying backwards thanks to the lack of resistance, and tried to catch the woman before she dropped. No sense darting her and then adding insult to injury by letting her crack her head on the wall or floor. He dragged her to a mostly out of sight alcove and hurried back.
"Okay, that's done," he said rather brightly, given their situation. "Now where is--oh, there I am!" He broke into a grin as the other Jamie and Betsy rounded the corner, now with the addition of Jean. "Ooooh, found someone!" He said brightly and hurried to hit the elevator call button. "We all wrapped up? Should get going. Man down and all." How he stayed so calm and downright bubbly through it all was a real question. Both Jamies herded everyone into the elevator, Doctor Madrox went out first when the doors opened, tranq gun ready just in case. "Okay, looks clear, let's go let's go!"
