Team 2: Jamie, Ruth, Betsy
If Ruth heard the man down call over her earbud, she gave no sign outwardly. Then again, the fact that she was already faking histronics quite likely just made them that much easier to hide. I should have seen it coming. The thought was only given a moment of free reign before she clamped down on it. Now was not the time for a pity party. Now was the time to make sure they had the exit of Betsy, the other Jamie, and their target covered. They needed to get rid of the damn nurse.
Jamie Prime was urging her to keep walking forward. Ruth was pulling back as though she refused to be dragged wherever he was trying to take her. For all anyone knew, Ruth herself was actually supposed to be locked in one of those rooms. She was rather glad Wisdom hadn't suggested it. The remembered weight of handcuffs made her hands want to shake. It just wasn't a good look for her.
"NO!" Irrational woman was irrational. She snatched back out of Jamie's grip, standing her ground defiant against his supposedly rational authority. "I won't go. I refuse. I want my Father. I want him now!" The commentary made her sound rather like she might have been the collective age of twelve, but if it kept the nurse concentrating on her while Ruth picked through her brain looking for something they could use, then so be it, she would sound like she was all of 12 years old. Undoubtedly the others could hear her down the hall.
Jamie. Send her for a sedative, there's a medicine cabinet back the way she came, it'll get her out of sight for a minute or two, then we can get the others off this floor before she gets back.
Funny how coherent she sounded mentally whilst being so absolutely theatrical physically. Then again, that was the funny thing about telepaths, they weren't really required to have both realms balanced all the time.
