Who: Havok, open to all Acolytes
What: Perhaps some surprising news
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: The training room
Warnings: None at the moment
Havok had hoped that everyone would show. With the exception of Scion, who seemed to get off on being a pain in his ass, he figured everyone would. They had become a fairly close-knit team as they'd trained and worked together. Despite the last semi-disastrous mission. He had given so much thought to this, agonized over several nights. But he had finally come to the conclusion that this was the only course of action he could take.
When the others arrived, none of the equipment was out. Alex wasn't even in uniform, as a matter of fact. He was just sitting on one the stacks of blocks in here, face serious. And he'd maintain that pose until all, or at least all who were apparently going to show up, arrived.
Once everyone had arrive the man just held up a hand. "Ok guys, I've got something to say. All I ask is that you hold questions and comments until I'm done, alright? Good." A pause there, as he looked around at his team. This...this was much harder than he had thought it was going to be, but he took a breath and forged onward. "You've all heard the speeches Erik and the Professor gave. I'm not going to try and sway you either way. That's a decision you and you alone have to make. I do need to tell what decision I've made, though." Perhaps this wouldn't surprise anyone. Perhaps it would.
"I'm going to remain here, with the Haven. My reasons are my own, but basically it boils down the fact that I think my philosophy and attitudes are better reflected by what Xavier said. Before you ask, yes, I have given Erik a letter with all of this in it. The Acolytes were always his team, which is why I'm stepping down as leader." His focus shifted now, from scanning the faces of all of his people to settling in on just one. "If you go, I've nominated you as the new leader, Shatterstar. You've got a good head for tactics, you're familiar with combat, and I think you'd be a good choice. I know you'll take good care of my-" a pause there, and a rueful smile "-the team." Then falling silent, and raising an eyebrow at the small group. Seems he'd now take questions, comments, or duck if anyone threw anything at him.
