Re: OT Alex
Lorna almost lost it when she saw Alex cry. Her eyes brimmed over and took every ounce of self control not to start crying right then and there too. Only a couple of those tears raced down her cheeks before she stopped the dam from bursting. It was downright bizarre to see Alex like this. He was usually the guy with all the answers. Even Gabe, with all of his bravado and general bad attitude had grudgingly looked up to Alex. He'd certainly looked to him for guidance. And now the man looked so lost, it was heartbreaking.
"It's all gonna be okay, Alex. I know it doesn't seem like it now," she offered softly, her hands going up to his shoulders. "You're staying right here, you hear me? I'm not gonna lose you too. You're staying right here, and we'll get through this together. We all will. And we'll... we'll do good in Gabe's name. There's so many others we can help, and I know he'd want us to," she offered valiantly, but her own voice was cracking all over, and she couldn't even finish. She wanted to believe it herself.
