The cringe did not escape Adrienne's keenly watchful eye. Not a fan of his father, then. Adrienne could certainly relate. That was another little something they apparently had in common.
"Very well," she said with a nod. It was better to keep him happy and remain in his good graces. "Just Dan it is."
Listening to Dan's explanation was understanding that accepting a certain level of psychic intrusiveness may come with the territory. And this from a psychic - for all intents and purposes - who seemed to more than rival Emma's powers was a quick lesson in being humbled. It was the first time such raw psychic power was turned on her. There was no point to be deceptive or manipulative with someone who could know every thought. She might as well try forthright honesty for a change of pace.
"My power is psychometry, Dan," she said breezily, watching Dan putter around the kitchen. She crossed her arms casually where she stood. Leaning or touching anything would have been more comfortable, perhaps, but she didn't want to be tempted to go digging where she might not be welcomed. "I touch things with my bare hands, and I can know about their past, present, as well as future. Sometimes I can control it, sometimes it's more spontaneous. Like when I touched you by accident."
