Adrienne has been in Nightvale for several months now. Since she first showed up to the small desert town back in September, she has been slowly but surely carving out a life for herself here. It was an adjustment at first, to be sure. However, anything beats being dead, so she was making do. It had been a surprise to hear that both her sister Emma and her brother Christian were here as well, but given how they left things, it was little surprise to the eldest Frost that her siblings had regarded her with wariness and the instinct seemed to be to avoid. Now, Emma was gone. Just up and gone one day, leaving a devastated following behind. Adrienne couldn't help the little ember of bitterness that sparked when she saw the outpouring of upset over the network in the aftermath of Emma's disappearance. Little Emma, always getting the attention and adoration of the masses, wherever she went. It was like that when they were growing up under Winston Frost's roof. It was like that long after as well. She had reached out to Christian after that, part genuine curiosity and part opportunity strikes. But nothing in return so far. She could hardly blame him. Out of all her siblings, Adrienne had done him the most damage, she supposed. Even though he had merely been collateral damage in her war against Emma. And Adrienne remained. She knew by now, more or less, how to navigate her way around Nightvale. She knew that the Dog Park on the corner of Earl and Somerset, near the Ralph's, was not for dogs, despite being called a dog park. Mysterious hooded figures roamed the streets. And apparently there were angels (and the Devil?) running around as well. She even found herself a little job tending bar at Harvelle's Roadhouse to keep her busy and make some money. It was very far from the level of wealth and power she was used to back home, but Adrienne would make do. If Emma could adapt, then so could she. Exiting her apartment, in a hurry and mentally distracted, Adrienne nearly ran headlong into a man doing the same thing. |
