Adi's invitation had been a welcome one, and once he had gotten settled back into life in the strange town, he'd made up his mind to take her up on it. He might not have the Force, as it were, but he did have the Shine. And on some level he wondered if those forces might be similar. If nothing else, he understood the importance of inner peace and anything that could help bring that about was welcome.
Besides, Adi had always been kind and welcoming and he was interesting in supporting what she had built here. He'd learned the value of good, solid friends back home and he knew he would need that here too. He'd struggled a lot over the years and it had made him keenly aware of the bonds he'd forged. With Billy. With Abra. With Lucy and David. His family had a lot of anger in them. A lot of darkness came with their Shine. His father had struggled with it and ultimately lost that fight. He'd struggled with it and overcome - though that fight was never truly over. He could see the beginning of the struggle in Abra and he had resolved himself to helping her through it.
Here, he needed new bonds, because he knew the kind of person he could be without them. And the temple seemed like a good place to start. So now he was out in the desert, looking at the temple and hoping he might find some peace and community there. But there was no point in dawdling, so he headed inside, smiling as he spotted Adi.
"This is really something you've built here," he said.
