Halloween Eve but all's not well
Who:Elena and Damon (there's always room for Stefan!)
What: tbd
When: Halloween night
Where: Fell's Church cemetery
Status/Rating:incomplete/tbd - (depends on how naughty we feel :)
Don't know that I will
But until I can find me
The girl who'll stay
And won't play games behind me
I'll be what I am
Halloween night in Fells Church arrived with the usual fanfare. The children dressed up as their favorite characters and traipsed around from house to house collecting free candy. The houses were decorated in all their ghoulish glory and for this one night everyone was either an honorary vampire or werewolf. Once the children were safely abed, the adults came out to play their version of Trick Or Treat. The annual Halloween Ball was being held right this minute at the home of the Mayor and his lovely family and anyone who was anyone in Fell's Church was there.
Except for one of the real vampires in their midst. Even though his family was one of the founding families and by rights he could certainly attend this function, he told himself with a disdainful sniff that he'd rather be caught dead than be there. Which was rather humorous, seeing as he was actually undead.
Damon Salvatore was roaming through the cemetery. Where else would a self-respecting vampire be on Halloween? He was brooding, as usual. It seemed all that he was capable of lately. Brooding and watching the object of his fantasies with hooded eyes and hidden desires. Although he was pretty sure that she knew how he felt. And maybe his brother did too. And maybe Damon didn't give a big damn any more cause in the long run what did it really matter? They had one another, and he had nothing and no one.
Pity party, table for one.
He picked up a small rock from the ground and tossed it, listening to the ping as it bounced off a couple of headstones, skipping from stone to stone until the echo finally died away into silence. It had occurred to him that he could see if Caroline Forbes wanted to attend the Ball with him. Hmmm, touch choice. Personally, he'd rather watch paint dry. The girl was such an airhead. Besides, he wasn't in the mood for her, she wasn't his choice of what was on Damon's menu. Could he help it that what was his choice was strictly forbidden?
He signed, picked up another rock and skipped it against the largest headstone he could find.
