Okay, so. Job hunting wasn't something she was good at. Ally's tendency to try and be what people wanted directly came into conflict with who she actually was. She'd screwed up the bar job by declaring herself a master mixer, she'd failed to see that she needed to dress way different for the restaurant job, a bakery was openly bigoted that she'd had to nope herself right out of there before she made a scene and got arrested for breach of the peace. To say it wasn't going well was a massive understatement.
She'd almost begged Kitty to ask her boss if he needed someone to hang herbs or dry leaves, but then she remembered that witches were probably really particular about their ingredients and she'd probably sneeze on something one time and mess up everything because she was an idiot like that. So, she held back from playing the 'I'm your friend and you could totally put in a good word for me' card.
At least until Kitty mentioned the Jam Jar, like it had been the obvious thing all along. Because Ally could wait tables, she could serve coffee (without spilling it 99% of the time) and she was totally good with people -she was literally the best with people. So why she hadn't started there -somewhere she liked to have coffee and cake anyway, she didn't know, but it just solidified the belief that Kitty was a little genius with a placard and she needed to pay attention to things better.
Having handed in her application, not lying on this one, Ally was hoping that the interview, which she was at least early for, would go well. Seeing the blond manager at the counter, Ally took a breath, reminder herself to be cool, and went over. "Hey, I'm Ally, I have an interview with you today?" Why did she make that a question? Ugh, way to be cool.
